- 2The longer versions of the same search did not move: "ai phone receptionist" 320 a month usually and 170 in August; "best ai receptionist" 390 and 320. Searches for established companies by name fell (Smith.ai 5,400 to 3,600).

- 5In India, offices search for the tools they already know: "ivr" 14,800 a month and "ai calling agent" 1,900, against 880 for "ai receptionist". Hindi product terms in Devanagari register no measurable searches.
Every US term, against its usual month
“Usual month” is the median of October 2025 to June 2026. The small line is each term's twelve months, scaled to its own peak, so a flat line means flat demand.

How we measured, and the limits
Google Ads API, KeywordPlanIdeaService, historical metrics for exact terms (not Keyword Planner's padded list of ideas), Google Search only, English, United States and India, the default twelve months, pulled on 2026-10-17.
Google rounds each month into buckets (5,400, 6,600, 90,500 and so on), so small differences mean little. Keyword Planner reports what people typed, not who they were: a jump in a short term can come from students, journalists, tools or people trying a new product, not only from buyers. We could not find the cause of the August jump; three things argue it is not all buyers: the longer phrasings did not rise, established brands fell, and Google rates the term low competition.
We are Damaruka, an AI receptionist, so we have an interest in this category. The numbers are Google's; the choice of terms and the reading are ours.
